For the second straight week, Lucky Jones has been a producer. The Colonials went 1-1 this week in a week where Pittsburgh sports all saw about the same results. Jones started off the week with an 83-79 overtime victory over Wagner last Saturday. He scored 21 points, 6 of which came in overtime, on 4 of 6 shooting. He added 5 boards and 3 steals to his stat sheet before the night was over. He shot a perfect 2 for 2 from behind the arc and made 11 of 12 from the charity stripe while carrying RMU to the victory.
On Thursday, while he still put up numbers, he couldn’t quite pull out the late victory as the Colonials fell to Quinnipiac, 63-61. Jones scored 12 points on 5 of 6 shooting and added 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in the effort.
For the week, Jones averaged 16.5 points on 75 percent shooting from the floor, 6 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. For his continuous strong play for the second week in a row, Lucky Jones is our reigning Yinzer of the Week.
