The success of Ben Roethlisberger just keeps coming.
Roethlisberger had completed a few milestones during the Steelers Week 13 match against the Indianapolis Colts. He broke the Steelers franchise record of most wins as a starting quarterback with 110. He also broke another record with his four touchdowns against the Colts, being the only Steelers quarterback to have four touchdowns in ten games. If that wasn’t enough, he also became the fourth player in NFL history where he’s had 12 consecutive seasons with 15 touchdown passes.
Impressive as it is, there’s also another honor Big Ben has received. Thursday he was named the FedEx Air Player of the Week. Also receiving the honor was running back, DeAngelo Williams, as he received the FedEx Ground Player of the Week. Both players received the award via a fan vote on www.nfl.com for their big game against the Colts, in which the team won 45-10.
Against the Colts, Roethlisberger completed 24-of-39 passes for 364 yards, four touchdowns, and had a passer rating of 126.4. His four touchdown passes went to receivers Martavis Bryant, Markus Wheaton, and Antonio Brown, who caught two of the touchdowns. Also in the game, Roethlisberger threw no picks and rushed the ball once for 13 yards.
As for Williams, although he did not score a touchdown, he had yet another big day, rushing 26 times for 134 yards. His longest run was 21 yards. As for receiving, Williams caught five passes from Roethlisberger for 31 yards. Williams did fumble the ball twice, losing it only once, but made up for it after continuously gaining first down yardage for the Steelers offense.
The next time Roethlisberger and Williams will go to work is in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 13 against the Bengals. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. EST.
