The NFL released their schedules throughout the league on Tuesday, and the Steelers will be one of the first teams the country sees to kick-off the NFL season. While little time will be wasted, the opponent isn’t ideal, as the Steelers will kick-off the NFL season against the Super Bowl Champs, the New England Patriots. The two teams will go to battle on Thursday, Sept. 10, in Foxboro.
From there, the Steelers will return home to host the San Francisco 49ers, before heading to St. Louis to take on Aaron Donald and the St. Louis Rams.
The Steelers will play their second Thursday night game in four weeks when the play host to the Baltimore Ravens on October 1.
in Week 5, the Steelers will travel to the west coast to take on San Diego for Monday Night Football on ESPN, before returning home to host the Arizona Cardinals the following week.
Weeks seven through 10 will feature the Chiefs, Bengals, Raiders and Browns, respectively, with Kansas City serving as the only road game during the stretch.
The Steelers will have their bye week during Week 11, but fact less than desirable schedule out of the break, as they’ll travel to Seattle before hosting the Colts for Sunday Night Football. They will wrap their season up with three out of the four games on the road, including Cincinnati in Week 14, Baltimore in Week 16 and Cleveland in Week 17. The Steelers final home game of the season will be against Peyton Manning and the Broncos in Week 15.
If it seems tough, well, it’s for a good reason.
Based on 2014, Steelers have most difficult strength of schedule (.578 opponents’ win pct); Falcons have easiest (.410 opponents’ win pct).
