The Pirates and free-agent RHP Edinson Volquez have agreed to a one-year, $5 Million Dollar contract, pending physical. Pirates sign Morton to three-year extension
Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports broke the news on Wednesday that the Pittsburgh Pirates have signed Charlie Morton to a three-year extension worth at least $20 million, with a $1 million buyout and a club option for 2017 worth up to $10 million. Morton will make $4 million this year, $8 million next year, $8 million in 2016 and then the club option. The Pirates have also been one of eight teams which have showed interest in Johan Santana.
